Abstract

This report aims to emphasize the importance of quality management in the current educational
context, focusing on private higher education institutions. The study investigates how these
institutions have addressed this issue, especially in light of fluctuations in student enrollment
and demand. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in late 2019, there was a significant
increase in demand for fully online and hybrid courses. As a result, tuition fees for in-person
programs dropped considerably. Simultaneously, the number of private colleges offering remote
learning options grew, often with more affordable rates compared to traditional formats. The
research was based on a bibliographic review of relevant scientific articles. The findings reveal
that quality management is a key factor for institutional success, contributing to academic
excellence, student satisfaction, and the effectiveness of educational outcomes—particularly in
distance and hybrid modalities. It is concluded that a process-oriented methodological approach
is essential, involving the monitoring of performance indicators and active engagement of the
academic community. The implementation of quality management practices emerges as a
strategic element for ensuring the sustainability of private institutions and promoting the
development of well-prepared graduates.
