Abstract

This article aims to discuss how the public management model or new public management had important characteristics that affected Colombian educational management.  The work is first developed in a presentation of the concept of management and its display as educational management, then presents the new public management and its characteristics such as its sense of results and privatization.  Then, an approach is made to the Colombian educational framework with the relevant document review, where these characteristics of the new public management are identified around rationalizations such as resource efficiency, decentralization and management.  Emphasis will be placed on changing laws and development plans to take into account specific trends and approaches to education policy and to identify problematic New Public Management research relationships.
