Abstract

This article presents the conception, execution, and evaluation of the project “I Have Read and Accepted: The Hidden Risks Behind a Click,” an educational intervention aimed at raising critical awareness about digital consent. The initiative was carried out through interactive workshops using audiovisual resources, case studies, and participatory dynamics, with the goal of encouraging reflection on the risks involved in the automatic acceptance of terms of use and privacy policies. The methodology adopted was qualitative and exploratory, involving 120 participants, including university students and professionals from private companies. The results highlight the relevance of the topic, the positive impact of the intervention on participants' perceptions, and persistent challenges such as the technical language of digital contracts, cultural resistance, and the lack of habit in reading terms. The study concludes by pointing to paths for expanding the initiative, emphasizing the inclusion of the topic in formal education, the use of text simplification technologies, and alignment with data protection policies under Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
