Abstract

This article discusses the Controllership sector and its strategic importance in the
corporate world. In this sense, the necessary skills of a controller and the main
characteristics of the sector in changing scenarios were established as a general
objective. The approach to the subject is justified insofar as there are many
doubts about the role of controllership and the moment for investment
contributions to be necessary. The text presents a brief history and motivations
for the development of the area and the Controller's role as a strategic
professional. In order to broaden the reflection, the text presents twenty tools, or
methodologies, with the authors and the respective objectives, demonstrating
how broad and at the same time centered is the Controller's work, which makes
the area increasingly fascinating. Finally, the text describes the aforementioned
tools and the objectives for their use, seeking to respond to the proposed
objectives. The limitations elapse insofar as the studies were based on
bibliographical research, on the other hand, they open the possibility of expanding
the investigations to the field of the business world.
