Abstract

The knowledge of the organizational and strategic factors of a company is essential for the beginning of international activities. Thus, this article aims to present a taxonomy based on the national literature on the internationalization process in SME software companie. The aspects were: the size of the companies, the services, the theories of internationalization, the motivational aspects, the characteristics, the year of international activity, the entry mode, the countries that company did business, and the barriers. This information was taken from the literature to build an organizational taxonomy that presents the internationalization process of these companies.The results showed the participation of incubators in the internationalization process. Most companies participated in fairs and missions to create strategic relationships. The national barrier is the lack of knowledge about the international market. Companies use faster entry modes with the help of incubators and social networks. The results point to the scenario that companies faced and consequently illustrate the entry modes used by SME of software companies. The entry modes are more accelerated, with the help of incubators and networks. Thus contributing to the knowledge of brazilian companies in relation to the international scenario.
