Abstract

That art has a transforming power in society is indisputable. Through it, sensitivity, creativity and perception are stimulated and consequently the exercise of these skills favors the individual's cognitive skills, contributing to their formation. In early childhood education, art as a transgressor and, since 2016, theater, visual arts and dance have been incorporated into the Brazilian basic education curriculum. But in higher education? Is it possible to use artistic expressions in the pedagogical process? This article aims to present experiences where art was used as a pedagogical tool in the university environment.
